Claudia Braubach

Curriculum Vitae

Claudia Braubach studied dance at the Amsterdam University oft he Arts and the Rheinische Musikschule Köln. Years later she completed an education in Alexander Technique (ATVD) in Cologne. After her studies she worked as a freelance dancer in the Netherlands for many years, among others with the choreographers Nicole Beutler and Min Tanaka. Since 1999 she was a member of the Tanztheater Osnabrück, later Bielefeld, under the direction of Gregor Zöllig for over 9 years. There she worked with Gregor Zöllig, Örjan Andersson, Rainer Behr, Yossi Berg, Guilherme Botelho, Anouk van Dijk, Henriette Horn, Jo Stromgren and Guy& Roni. She then worked as a freelancer again, mainly in north rhine westphalia. As a freelance dancer and choreographer she created her own works in the independent dance scene as well as for freelance acting ensembles and was residence artist at the Orangerie Theater Köln for several years. She has created works for opera, drama and community dance projects for municipal theatres, among others with Royston Maldoom. Collaborations have taken her to the Stadttheater Bielefeld, Neuss and Bonn, to independent theatres such as the Theater im Bauturm or the Orangerie Theater Köln. The constant interest in interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation led to countless interdisciplinary productions. A long and close cooperation with theatre director Stefan Rogge was established here. Teaching activities initially took place in the contexts of dance training, acting training and community dance. Improvisation and somatic working methods became more important - in 2014 Claudia Braubach completed her studies of Alexander Technique. She is currently completing a post-graduate course with Caren Bayer. She teaches Alexander Technique at the Skills Training School in Cologne and runs her own Alexander Technique Studio.
